Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What exactly is blipshift?

Blipshift is where you can find fresh and awesome limited edition T-shirts for automotive enthusiasts. Every Monday thru Friday we will release one or more new designs for as little as $18. Once a shirt’s run is done, we’re off to the next one. We have short attention spans.

For more information on the jokers behind blipshift, visit our About Us page.

Seriously, can't I buy a design after a sale?

Anytime we do a production run of shirts we print the number ordered plus a handful of extras because nice round numbers don't hurt our heads. If you want to own a design you should order it during the sales period! AFTER the already purchased shirts have been shipped, any extras are put into the Garage for a few bucks more than the pre-sale price, plus normal shipping charges. Quantity is extremely limited, and we won't have all designs or sizes, so no whining. To see if your size is available just look for any design with the green light to see what extras are available.

If there are no copies left you can sign up on our Notify Me list for that design to be informed if it comes back. We bring back much-loved designs throughout the year, so don't lose hope!

What shirts do you use?

We normally use Men's Next Level 3600 Fitted Tees (Next Level 3900 for Women's) which are 100% ringspun 4.3oz cotton, except Heather Gray which is 10% Poly and 110% awesome, as our internal evaluation determined they offer an excellent combination of comfort, quality, and price.

Our Men's Long Sleeves are Hanes 5186 Beefy-T (100% ringspun 6oz cotton) for extra durability and comfort. Our Men's Heavy Duty (HD) tees are also Hanes Beefy-Ts, but, uh, lacking the long sleeves.

Men's Hoodies are Gildan 18500 (50/50 cotton/poly, 7.75oz, no-pill Air Jet yarn).

If necessary due to national shirt supply limitations, we may substitute comparable quality products from Hanes, Gildan, Anvil, or others.

What size do I need?

We can’t see your body (we understand that Google is working on solving that), but Next Level Fitted shirts tend to be a little more, uh, fitted than other tees. That means get the next size up if you’re not sure. Here’s a handy size chart to help you make your decision.

How are your shirts printed?

All of our shirts are printed using a proprietary blend of used synthetic motor oil and unicorn tears through a state-of-the-art screen-printing processes under the expert guidance of artisans and their robot overlords, right here in 'Merica. We will sometimes substitute state-of-the-art DTG as production needs demand.

Do your shirts shrink?

Like a frightened turtle. Since our shirts are mostly made from 100% cotton (we’re looking at you Heather Gray), they will shrink slightly when you wash them. In our tests they gave up 5-10% after a few cycles in hot.

If you want them to shrink as little as possible, a normal routine of wash cold, dry low should be just fine. But, you already ordered a size up since you're borderline, right?

Can I get a design as a poster instead?

Sure! Blipshift posters are made with high quality Canon or Epson inks, and designed to last. We do not recommend hanging the finished work in direct sunlight. We do recommend hanging the finished artwork in your dingy garage. Size is as indicated but will usually be 12" x 18", 18" x 12" or 16" x 16" depending on what best suits the design. All posters are printed with a 1/4" white border and blipshift logo.

Posters are rolled in newsprint and shipped in a durable cardboard tube, and orders with shirts may be combined by our fulfillment team to minimize shipping costs.

Who designs your shirts?

Our tees are designed by either the mad geniuses that work for us, or more often, when our genius threatens to cross the border into insanity, we rely on a collective of auto-enthusiasts and artists from around the world. Each selected shirt’s description includes a short bio of the artist, including links to their portfolio of other work.

I have a design/idea, what do I do?

We’re always looking for new talent. If you are interested in joining in the fun and making serious cha-ching, check out our Submission Page.

When will I get my awesome shirt?

Once an order is placed it usually takes less than 10 business days for us to print and process each design after the sale period for sale design has ended. After your order is processed it will be shipped. Time in transit from our warehouse to your front door can take anywhere from a few days to about a week, depending on how far away you live from our nexus of awesomeness. Here's an overview of the steps involved.

How much is shipping?

$4.29 for one light apparel item (tee, poster, pack of socks, tie, etc) within the continental U.S., or a flat rate of $7.49 for 2+ items (or one heavier item). For international rates, check out our shipping info page.

To what countries do you ship this awesomeness?

We are proud to ship our awesomeness worldwide! Please note that any international tax obligations are solely your responsibility to fulfill. If you have any concerns about shipments to your country don't hesitate to contact us.

What if my awesome shirt has a problem?

If you need to return your shirt due to our mistake (either a manufacturing defect or because you received the wrong shirt or size), contact us. All returns must be within 30 days from the date of purchase and item(s) must be unworn and unwashed. We regret that returns because you simply ordered the wrong size or changed your mind are not possible, so please do order carefully. Please include your order number on the contact form. Be aware that  due to the limited-edition nature of our products, exchanges for a different size are usually not possible

Do you sell gift cards?
Does a bear shirt in the woods? Huh? Nevermind. Heck yeah we sell gift cards! To use it just check out normally and you'll have the option to redeem your gift card. Any unused balance will remain valid for future purchases too.

Do gift cards expire?

Only if you outlive blipshift... and that could be a long long time cuz we're downing a raw egg every day Rocky style. So nope, gift cards don't expire.
