The alphabet's final letter got the last desert laugh, with its swoopy GT chassis proving to be just as adept on sand as it was at Suzuka. A 3800-mile grand tour is a cakewalk for Japanese reliability, and with only minor safari modifications, it became not just "that car", but THE car 'round the 1970 podium.
